The NextGen Jobs Automotive Apprenticeship is a paid training and employment program for people who want to work in the automotive industry whether they dream of being as a mechanic or whether they would like to work their way up to being a Master Automotive Technician

The 3-4 year apprenticeship is divided into two parts: a classroom portion and an on-the-job training portion or work experience.

1. In the classroom, you will learn about the theory of vehicle maintenance and repair from certified instructors at a Registered Training Organisation. You'll also receive hands-on support to compliment your studies from veteran highly experienced mechanics at a renowned dealership. 

2. At work your employer will also provide ongoing specialised instruction, supervision and support. Overall, your apprenticeship will typically be a 38 hour per week commitment, with overtime required from time to time. A further bonus is that your study will be included within this time commitment

Other people go on to become Service Advisors and Managers, or they may decide to do a dual qualification in automotive – electrical.
